I heart PARENTS!

I don’t mean just people-who-make-people (although most of the ones I know who fit into that category are incredibly cool). Today I really really love Parents magazine for the blush-worthy plug they just gave me on their popular GoodyBlog! You can check it out in its entirety here, but this is my favorite part:

“We’re more than a little biased in our love for the new book The Parent Trip—author Jenna McCarthy writes for Parents. She says all the things many moms think but wouldn’t necessarily say out loud, and we love her I-can’t-believe-this-is-happening stories…”

Thank you, anonymous reviewer! I worship you (but not in a creepy, ankle-blocking, “I’m-your-biggest-fan” sort of way, I promise).

Come on, it’s better than working

So I mentioned a while back I had discovered the maddening, mystifying “microblogging” site Twitter. Yes, I am still addicted, and not to brag or anything, but I’ve managed to wrangle an impressive (to me) 232 followers. One of them is the lovely blog Goddess Kate Olson, who started This Mommy Gig as a playgroup for working moms “since she’s not welcome at any REAL playgroups.” How can you not love her? She rocks. Click the link for another chance to win a copy of The Parent Trip! Say something nice about my book and there could be a margarita in it for you.

Check out this review I just received from the supermodel, volleyball phenom and supermom:

You can’t make this stuff up! Jenna McCarthy so brilliantly captures how hilarious the insanity of motherhood and family can be. Whether you have little ones running around or just got pregnant, this book is for you. Comforting to know that in the end you realize we are all in this together.  Jenna made me laugh, and humor has been my saving grace.”

How much do I love that woman? You can’t even imagine.
