Do you think we discriminate against homeless people too? There's one by our house and he has a sign that says PEACE and SMILE, and we felt like we wanted to give him money but then we see him smoking so we think, "HEY! He's going to use the money we'll give him to buy cigarettes to kill himself!" Don't you think a homeless man begging for money should NOT smoke while he's begging? That's just dumb! Weird. (I went off on him loudly for that one.) Or the guy who asked for $ for food and so I gave him 1/2 of my Brie/Virginia-Ham/Sun-dried tomato sandwich...he threw it in to the subway tracks...Yeah, for a short second I did think about shoving him in after it. The sandwich cost me 8 bucks. But I decided to do the 'right thing' and give to anyone who asked. So I made up an allowance of $5 in quarters per day. Anyone who asked got a quarter, I was usually empty before I hit the office. Once I was on the subway and a guy asked me for a dollar. I had it, I gave it to him. Some lady went off on me (Maybe it was your Mother)"Don't give him money, he will only go out and buy a bottle of wine." I replied, "Wow, I never thought of that." Then I gave the guy a ten-spot and said loudly, "Geez, if that's all you have to look forward to today...at least buy something decent." Jenna,
